The
Main Lawn
has been host to many parties and BBQs. There is a seating area at the side of the house adjacent to the tennis court which is all free to guests. Tennis rackets and balls are available as are water cannons so watch out parents!
The Lane Garden
that runs the length of the tennis court is adorned with perennial plants, fruit trees and roses. It is in bloom from March to October and attracts many birds and bees.
Bird song is ever present and particularly vibrant in the evening. The garden plays host to; Swifts, Swallows, House Martins, Doves, Wood Pigeons, Blackbirds, Sparrows, Tits, Wrens and occasionally a Pheasant, Woodpecker, Hobby and other birds of prey.
Sheep shearing takes place in May in the rear courtyard and once done they gather outside the north gate looking a lot cooler than they were the day before.
There isn't any light polution so on a clear night there is an amazing view of the stars.
